Marching out of time to my own beat.

It took me a surprisingly long time to create this blog. I mean, apart from the realisation of the sheer effort required to put in an hour or so a week to update I could be doing my readings (or sleeping or watching TV or sleeping), I had to choose the layout, the backgrounds and the colours of the blog. The toned down scallops are actually one of the later choices. If I'd had another coffee for the day, fluorescent polka dots would be indecently assaulting your eyesight as I speak.

Honestly, I doubt the Universe would make me spend almost half an hour debating over whether #d1c1a3 would go with #c3341e if it really wanted me to do any work.

I've made the commitment, though, in a kind of half-arsed response to Obiter Ovum's call to arms, and plan to keep it up because I'm already feeling less guilty about abandoning those case summaries!

So, a massive thanks for reading the first post of what I hope will be a long (and successful) road towards completing my Lawyerisation and achieving the ability to wear a wig to work without being laughed at.

  1. Welcome to the blawgosphere :-) (though I see from your profile you've had a blogger account since 2008?) ;-)

It's great to see that Obiter's call to arms is producing results - much more so than my attempt last summer :http://lawactually.blogspot.com/2010/07/calling-all-first-year-law-students.html)

btw, I've added you to my blawgroll over at Law Actually! :-)

  2. Thanks for coming over! I bestow upon you the honour of being the first person to comment on my blog, ever!

I found Obiter Ovum through Survive Law - I wasn't a Law student last summer so I dodged that bullet ;D

Hopefully in the next few years, I won't be looking back at this and shaking my head too hard.

    Love the blog name!

  3. The blogger account since 2008 is very misleading - the only thing to come out of that has been neglect!

  4. Great - I'm honoured! :p

Re. the blogger date thing, it sounds a bit like me and twitter. I actually created an account in Jan 2007 but it took me 18 months to really do anything with it!

Oh and thanks for the return link! :-)
